There are three gifts Santa could give Liverpool in 2021.

2020 has been unprecedented and the most unpredictable for people and football fans around the world.

The global coronavirus outbreak saw football aborted as leagues across the globe canceled seasons altogether. In Europe, some leagues such as the Scottish Premier League and the French League also canceled seasons, but the top team was declared champions.

In countries such as Spain, Italy, and England, decisions regarding the league’s situation were still to be made, with rumors of the governing bodies declaring the league null and void floating around the media.

For Liverpool, the 2019-20 season was also unprecedented for sporting reasons. They sat top of the English premier league table with a mammoth difference in points between them and second place Man City.

The club was on the cusp of the holy grail – its first league title in over 30 long years. Fans felt the physical fragility of the coronavirus and were mentally tormented about the frightening implications of the rumors, considering the league being declared null and void.

However, after a couple of months, the news of the Premier league restarting brought cheers around Liverpool, and after three months behind schedule, the league was back underway but without fans in the stands.

When the league resumed behind closed doors, Chelsea beat Man City at Stamford Bridge and helped Liverpool seal the Premier League title. Jubilation, relief, and the sight and sound of fireworks echoed through the streets of Liverpool.

The team’s manager Jurgen Klopp became an Anfield God, and the champions of 2019-2020 who achieved a total of 99 points, went down as one of the greatest Liverpool and Premier league sides in football history.

In the new 2020-2021 season, the Merseyside giants have continued to churn out results and currently sit top of the league this Christmas. However, with the roar of the Anfield crowd missing, the team suffering from a seemingly never-ending injury crisis, and the growing inconsistencies a worrying sign for the club, we as supporters of the club could definitely ask Santa during this festive period for gifts which could benefit Liverpool and the football club in 2021.

Here are three gifts we could ask Santa for the next year.
