Here are the Liverpool player ratings from the 1-1 draw with West Brom.

Liverpool were left frustrated after the Baggies struck a late equalizer at Anfield.

The Reds went into the match two points clear of city rivals Everton at the top of the Premier League – with Leicester, Manchester United and Chelsea among the sides dropping points below them.

Liverpool began the game positively, with the West Brom bank of ten sat firmly behind the ball. Jordan Henderson and Andy Robertson threatened, but the resilient Baggies backline withstood the Red barrage.

It seemed like only a matter of time though, and it was Matip that mattered in the move setting up Sadio Mane.

The Cameroonian pinged a cross which was wonderfully controlled by his fellow African, and sublimely finished past the helpless Sam Johnstone.

That would remain the only shot on target Liverpool had that half though, despite having over 80% of the ball. The Baggies were still in the game, which was the game plan from the start.

In the second period it became noticeable how involved West Brom were becoming offensively. Karlan Grant was becoming more of an out-ball, and Liverpool were slower in possession.

The home side were forced into making their first change as Joel Matip, who had been solid against the front two of Callum Robinson and Grant, pulled his groin. This is likely to see him missing for a few weeks.

West Brom continued to press and finally got their deserved equaliser with ten minutes to go. Semi Ajayi, the man who played a role in their equaliser against Manchester City, nodded home with Alisson unable to keep it out.

That’s Sam Allardyce’s fourth game without a loss at Anfield now, with the Baggies still at the foot of the table. Liverpool stay top by just three points, which can be cut to two by Manchester United.

7. . . . ALISSON BECKER

The Brazilian was vital to the Reds actually hanging on to a point, making a particularly excellent save from Karlan Grant. There was nothing he could do about the goal though – and will leave without a clean sheet for the second consecutive game.

But if it wasn’t for him, Liverpool would have not drawn the game. He has our joint highest rating.
