There is no doubt that 2020 was a bittersweet year for Liverpool fans.

Like the rest of the world, we have suffered through a global pandemic that brought with it community lockdowns and massive unemployment.

However, on a football level, we rejoiced when 30 years of pain and suffering was finally brought to a swift and incisive end when Jordan Henderson became the first Liverpool captain to lift the Premier League trophy.

Although those years were littered with memorable cup triumphs, we still had to endure the witty banter from other fans after throwing away title challenges with two 0-0 draws against Stoke City in 2008/09 and an out of character Steven Gerrard slip in 2014 before watching minnows Leicester City grab an EPL trophy before us in 2016.

We also had to endure watching teams lined with players such as Istvan Kozma, Djimi Traore, David Ngog, The New Zainadine Zidane AKA Bruno Cheyrou and striker extraordinaire Sean Dundee. In short, supporting Liverpool during those years was a never-ending roller coaster ride that almost ended in bankruptcy.

But how times have changed. Now we have the best coach in the world, leading one of the best squads in the world and as fans, we have been treated to some of the best football ever seen in the Premier League.

So let’s take a quick look back at some of the best goals from 2020  and let’s pray that this type of form continues on our quest to win back to back Premier League titles.
