CM – Thiago

The Spanish international has been like a January signing following his return from the injury he sustained against Everton. Thiago has done well in midfield so far, spraying in some really good passes. He will definitely start against Burnley and will be eager to create some scoring opportunities for his teammates through his passing.

CM – Georginio Wijnaldum

The Dutchman’s importance to the Liverpool team is massive, particularly this season when the club has faced so many injuries. Wijnaldum has played week in, week out and has worked tirelessly on the field. The 30-year-old will be looking to aid his team both defensively and offensively against the Clarets this week.

CM – Jordan Henderson

With Matip having a very good chance of starting, it means the Liverpool captain will be back in his usual midfield position. Henderson did very well at centre-back with his performance against United garnering plenty of praise. However, he is best utilised in the middle of the park where he can help the team defensively by covering for Alexander-Arnold when he runs forward and is also capable of helping his team’s attacking play through his long balls.

In an interview with Liverpool’s official website, Henderson said that everyone in the team needs to chip in with goals to end their attacking issues. The skipper himself can try with a few shots on goal from distance as he is pretty good at doing that.
