Liverpool should think about approaching these players for free transfers.

There are a number of excellent footballers who are coming to the end of their contracts, and the club could make a move for them in the summer.

We’re probably going to say goodbye to Gini Wijnaldum, and that may open up a spot in midfield for a new arrival.

With only three centre-backs in the squad, Jurgen Klopp may want to look at another one to supplement the ranks. There are a number of interesting targets that could be spoken to about a move in the summer.

Elsewhere, Divock Origi’s time at Liverpool is probably over, and Xherdan Shaqiri isn’t guaranteed to stay either. We may need two replacements for those in a summer transfer window that could get expensive.

A great way to mitigate those costs would be to make the most of the free transfer market, and there is a number who would fit the bill.

So let’s have a look at three players Liverpool could sign as a free transfer in the summer, and don’t forget to let us know what you think of the list we’ve gathered.

Eric Garcia

This one might be a bit of a shot in the dark, but it would be an amazing move if Klopp was able to pull it off.

Despite those links with Barcelona, Garcia is still a Premier League player with Premier League experience. He’s also just 20-years-old, and appears to have a very high ceiling.

The Spaniard is a natural leader, takes an extreme interest in tactics and leadership and has been trusted by Pep Guardiola. Those are all incredibly fine characteristics to have and ones that would help him fit in at Liverpool.

Garcia’s heart does seem set on Barca, but if the Reds can bring him to Anfield it would be a massive steal.
