Liverpool fans are convinced that a £20m target will solve their problems as we tick towards transfer deadline day.

The injuries to Joel Matip and Fabinho over the last few days has changed everything. FSG was completely content to allow Jurgen Klopp to make do with the squad but now we’re really down to the bare bones.

Matip and Fabinho could to be out for a few weeks, and that time period could make or break the season. Liverpool is now in a position where they have to bring in another center-back, and Issa Diop has been identified as a target.

The unwanted West Ham defender has got Premier League experience and a decent skill set, but the London side knows that Liverpool is desperate and is likely to bump up any asking price because of that.

And some fans have urged FSG to make the move based on a video of Diop playing against Tottenham Hotspur.

In the video, the center-back intercepted the ball just before the halfway line and surged forward past the entire Tottenham Hotspur defense before taking a shot a Hugo Lloris in goal.

It showed his pace and power, but very little of Diop’s defensive attributes, apart from an ability to read the game. Nevertheless, it had some Liverpool fans excited about the prospect of seeing the Frenchman in red.
