Right-back: Trent Alexander-Arnold – 6
Definitely back to his best, and that’s not something you’d expect me to say after rating him a six.
It’s not the peak performance, like the other night against Spurs which prove his form. It’s these slightly below peak performances that show it.
He defended well against Said Benrahma and Michail Antonio, and played a huge part in the second crucial goal.
Centre-back: Nat Phillips – 7.5
With Ben Davies reportedly coming in from Preston North-End, many may feel that it would signal the end for Nat Phillips. Far from it.
These last two games alongside his captain, he has really stepped up. He’s not fashionable, he’s not that good a footballer, but he has done exactly what he’s needed to do.
It’s going to definitely be interesting when Davies does come in, whether Klopp goes for him alongside Henderson or Phillips, or whether he’ll get in at all.
Centre-back: Jordan Henderson – 8
Another absolutely stellar performance from the second best stand-in centre back in the world.
After the club released the social media clips of him communicating against Tottenham, you could hardly hear anything else. You do feel it could be a future venture for him as he begins to get older.
Left-back: Andy Robertson – 6.5
Not a brilliant Robertson performance offensively, but the Scot was excellent in holding back the threats of Jarrod Bowen and the marauding Antonio.
He paired well with both James Milner and Thiago on the left-hand side of the diamond too. You do feel he needs a rest soon though.
