Liverpool are back in action this weekend  as they take on Manchester City at Anfield.

The Reds’ title chances are pretty much minimal at the moment and right now, they’ve got pretty nothing to play for except a finish in the top two.

Pep Guardiola’s side is arguably the best team in Europe now and a win for the Reds will be a morale booster ahead of the Champions League knockouts.

Man City have been in scintillating form at the moment, having been unbeaten in 13 Premier League matches and keeping a clean sheet in their last six.

Guardiola and co. may be the favorites to win the game and if they do, it’ll be the first time since 1963/64 that Liverpool has lost three home league fixtures in a row.

Jurgen Klopp’s side has their work cut out but with the possibility of some injured stars coming back, they could give City a tough fight.

Now, let’s take a look as to how Liverpool can line up against the table-toppers on Sunday.

Alisson

The Brazilian missed the clash against Brighton due to an illness but Klopp said that it wasn’t Covid.

The Liverpool boss claimed that Alisson is feeling better now and the 28-year-old also featured in the training session.

Hence there’s a good chance of Alisson starting on Sunday, something Klopp and every Liverpool fan will hope for.

The Brazilian hasn’t kept a clean sheet in the Premier League since the goalless draw against Manchester United around three weeks ago and will be keen on playing the ninety minutes against City without conceding a single goal.

Guardiola’s side’s attack hasn’t been as lethal as the past couple of seasons but the quality of the attackers is good enough to trouble the Reds’ defense. Alisson will have to bring on his A-game if he is to get the better of the likes of Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, and Gabriel Jesus.

A clean sheet against Man City will definitely boost Alisson’s morale ahead of the Champions League.
