CM – Thiago

The Spanish international will be up against his former Bayern Munich manager on Sunday. Thiago has so far done well in midfield but he still has a lot to contribute and will be keen on producing a strong performance against City.

CM – Georginio Wijnaldum

The Dutch international has been doing well for Liverpool in the middle of the park and in spite of the tough schedule, has managed to keep himself fit when many haven’t.

Wijnaldum will start against City and will be keen on aiding his team defensively and offensively. His last goal against the Manchester outfit came back on New Year’s Eve 2016 and Sunday would be a fine occasion to score his second versus them in a Liverpool shirt.

CM – James Milner

The 35-year-old will most likely take the third midfield spot and start against his former club. Liverpool’s injuries have seen Milner become a regular in the lineup lately.

The former England international will be in the playing XI for the 4th successive game and will be looking to put in a strong performance from the middle of the park.

However, it won’t be surprising if Klopp starts Curtis Jones or Xherdan Shaqiri ahead of Milner.
