Kabak is a threat from set-pieces

While this may not seem too pertinent of an issue, the stats might surprise you. Without Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip in the side, Liverpool’s threat from corners and free-kicks has significantly diminished.

This is something which Ozan Kabak might be able to revive. In the 2019/20 and 2018/19 Bundesliga seasons, Kabak scored three goals from set-pieces in each season. In many ways, he’s a bit of a van Dijk clone.

In a time where Liverpool struggling to fashion chances, never mind scoring goals, Kabak’s aerial threat could do the side a lot of good. Although his stats may not be as impressive as his idol Van Dijk’s (nine Premier League goals in 2018/19 + 2019/20), they are certain to provide a boost to the squad.

One thing’s for sure, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson will be licking their lips at the prospect of finally having a target to aim for in set-pieces.
