Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United are rock bottom of the league. They’ve looked a shadow of their 2019/20 side. An error-prone defence, static midfield, and ineffective attack make them one of the easiest, if not the easiest side to play against.

This is why I think Davies must play against the Blades in his debut game. It would be a good opportunity to play him in England’s best league for the first time.

There are only four sides in the league who have performed worse/equal to Liverpool since Christmas day, one of them being Sheffield United.

Since December 25th, Liverpool and Sheffield United have both averaged 0.8 points per game. Klopp’s men have lost six, drawn three, and won two, while Wilder’s men have lost eight and won three.

The Reds have the attacking edge, with 0.8 goals per game, while the Blades have 0.6. Sheffield United have the defensive edge of conceding 1.4 goals per game, while Liverpool have conceded 1.5 per game.
