Premier League action resumes this week with Liverpool hosting Chelsea at Anfield on Thursday.

The Reds were once considered invincible at their home ground but recent results have been bizarre for them as they are yet to register a win at Anfield since December – a game where Roberto Firmino’s late header saw them defeat Tottenham.

After four successive defeats at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp’s side will be eager to get back to winning ways there.

However, Chelsea will be tough to beat. The Blues are yet to lose a game under Thomas Tuchel and have conceded only twice from nine games under him so far.

Liverpool houldn’t be written off with the quality they possess and the team will be boosted with Klopp claiming that both Alisson and Fabinho are in contention to start while Diogo Jota could also feature in the squad. A win for the Reds is vital as it could see them edge closer to a place in the top four.

Now, let’s take a look at the team Klopp could assemble on Thursday.

Alisson

The Brazilian international suffered a terrible personal tragedy as his father died a  few days back which saw him miss the match against Sheffield United. Adrian managed to keep a clean sheet against the Blades but with Klopp saying that Alisson could return, it looks like he will be back in the starting XI on Thursday.

The 28-year-old will be eager to keep his sixth clean sheet in the Premier League this season and will have to bring in his A-game if he is to deny the Chelsea attackers. He will also have to be careful with the ball at his feet.

Provided Alisson manages not to concede, he will be the first Liverpool goalie to keep a clean sheet in both Premier League fixtures against Chelsea since Pepe Reina who did so during the 2010/11 season.
