Following disappointing home defeats to Chelsea and Fulham, Liverpool will be eager to get back to winning ways as they play RB Leipzig on Wednesday.

The Reds won the first leg at Budapest 2-0 courtesy of goals from Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. The home fixture will also be played in the Hungarian capital and Jurgen Klopp’s side will be looking to win it and confirm their place in the quarterfinals.

Liverpool may have a two-goal advantage but they have to be wary of Julian Nagelsmann’s team who have won all of their matches following the defeat at Budapest.

Liverpool line up vs Leipzig

The Reds will most likely be without Roberto Firmino in the starting XI as the Brazilian, who missed the Fulham game due to a knock, was not seen training with the team.

Now, let’s take a look at the team Klopp could possibly field against Leipzig this week.

Alisson

The Brazilian managed to put in a decent performance in the first leg, making a few crucial saves. He will be determined to put in a good showing against Leipzig after being unable to keep a clean sheet in any of his last three matches.

Alisson will have to be at his best if he is to stop the opposition attackers from threatening Liverpool’s advantage. The 28-year-old hasn’t had the best of seasons and he’ll be keen on making the most out of the remaining matches.

If Liverpool are to stand a chance of winning the Champions League, Alisson will have to be solid between the sticks and most importantly, fit given the number of injuries the club has had in defence.

The Brazilian of course will be looking to save any shots that come his way on Thursday but he’ll also have to be careful with the ball at his feet.
