Liverpool vs. Crystal Palace: 3 reasons why the Reds will win
Liverpool will face Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon at Anfield for their final match of the 2020-2021 Premier League season. Both the Eagles and Reds will wave farewell to Roy Hodgson, who could play spoiler to the Reds’ Champions League title hopes, while the latter side will warmly welcome 10,000 fans to cheer them on.
Although Palace should not be taken lightly, here are three reasons why Liverpool will get the job done and write their place in the top four in permanent marker.
Liverpool have all the momentum
There was something special about watching the way Liverpool played against Manchester United at Old Trafford last Thursday night. United have been flying high since signing Edinson Cavani up top, as they locked up second place in the Premier League and are favorites in the Europa League Final, even over tournament specialist Unai Emery.
Yet the Reds outplayed them in their own stadium, with Roberto Firmino playing the hero by scoring a goal on either side of half-time before Mohamed Salah sealed the deal late.
Then, Liverpool had a fairytale win over West Brom, with Alisson showing up as the goal-scoring hero, heading home from a last-minute corner to keep the Reds’ top-four hopes going.
And finally, this past Wednesday, Liverpool dominated a stingy Burnley side at Turf Moor, 3-0.
Take these last three performances together, and you can see why I say that Liverpool have all the momentum. They have the clutch factor and professionalism of champions, and you can tell when Jurgen Klopp speaks at his press conferences, they are getting their mojo back.
