Liverpool have been linked to superstars Kylian Mbappe and Jadon Sancho in a number of transfer rumors, but the reality is that neither player is in their budget. Real Madrid and Manchester United, respectively, are far more likely transfer destinations for that duo, which means if the Reds want to make another addition to their front line, they should look for alternatives.

Here are five players with the quality worth being Liverpool transfer targets. The club still may not be able to sign these men, but they are at least more affordable than Sancho and Mbappe while still potentially being significant assets to the Reds.

Leeds RW Raphinha

It isn’t easy to find top-class right wingers, and Liverpool have one of the world’s absolute best in Mohamed Salah. But if they want to supplement him with another option who can also play on the left side if needed, then Raphinha is indeed a player worth targeting.

Raphinha has already been linked to the club and proved in 2020-2021 that he has the quality to be a great Premier League winger. Of course, he was a standout before joining Leeds, but the confirmation of his quality in the same league is an added bonus.

The 24-year-old scored six goals with nine assists for Leeds after joining from Rennes, where he scored a goal with two assists to start the season. So in total, he had 18 goal contributions between both leagues.

Raphinha averaged 1.9 dribbles completed and 2.1 key passes per game in the Premier League, per WhoScored.com. Those are tremendous numbers and indicative of the quality he can bring to Liverpool in 2021-2022 if he were signed.
