Liverpool emerge as “obvious” destination for Erling Haaland

The Borussia Dortmund superstar who is on every elite European club’s wish-list; Erling Haaland transfer speculation has been heating up this season and now Liverpool has had their hat thrown into the race.
Sky Germany journalist and transfer extraordinaire Marc Behrenneck has claimed only two clubs have a real chance of signing the young Norweigian; Liverpool and Paris Saint Germain.
This may come as a shock to most fans of the beautiful game, however, with Real Madrid chasing Kylian Mbappe and Manchester City targeting Harry Kane it’s actually viable to make the reds and French giants PSG the frontrunners.
And according to Behrenneck, the transfer of Haaland to Liverpool is completely “obvious”.

The reds are in the market for a striker this summer and will be looking to compete with their fellow big-spending Premier League rivals; Haaland fits the bill for this perfectly.
Also, the forward who has netted 19 times in 16 appearances for Dortmund this campaign has a release clause which comes into action this summer of around £65 million.
This would suit Liverpool’s transfer model down to a tee, due to Haaland’s age and their willingness to not overpay for big talents emerging in Europe.
One obstacle Jurgen Klopp’s team may have is trouble competing with PSG on securing Haaland’s massive wage demands.
The forward’s notorious agent Mino Riola will be driving a hard deal and if his reported wage structures are anything to go by, Liverpool will struggle to pay Haaland what he wants, even more so with a looming big contract for Mohamed Salah.
