Liverpool will likely have their strongest starting XI in a while vs. Leicester City today.

For Liverpool FC, it has been a tough go in terms of player availability in recent fixtures – but today, that changes. For the Reds’, the lineup that Jürgen Klopp will field today will be the team’s best starting XI sans suspended left-back Andrew Robertson. In theory, the lineup should look like this:

  • Forwards – Salah, Jota, Mané
  • Midfielders – Henderson, Keita, Fabinho
  • Defenders – Tsimikas, Matip, van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold
  • Goalkeeper – Alisson

If it were not for Robertson’s suspension, this would have marked the first time the Reds’ had their entire arsenal of starters at their disposal since early this season. Moreover, they will need it versus a Leicester City squad seeking revenge.

Leicester City enters this match battered and beaten but still formidable.

Given last week’s eventful FA Carabao Cup fixture at Anfield, no one should be surprised if that loss has left a bitter taste in the Foxes’ mouths. Regardless of FA or EPL play, losing in penalty kick fashion is something no one enjoys. So expect LCFC manager Brendan Rogers to attack relentlessly and potentially start with a partnership at striker between Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho. The former has proven to be more than capable of applying pressure on a Liverpool’s backline in previous contests.

As of now, Leicester City is tenth in the Premier League table. They would love nothing more than to spoil LFC’s climb to first place today at King Power Stadium. Liverpool should take three points today, but it will be anything but easy.
