Liverpool indicate interest in English holding midfielder

According to recent reports from the newspaper El Nacional, Liverpool are interested in signing a highly-rated English Regista in a rumoured deal of around 33 million pounds.
The player in question is England and Leeds United star, Kalvin Phillips.
Even though Leeds United value Kalvin at 66 million Pounds, Liverpool are ready to offer 33 million Pounds to start the discussion.
While Kalvin Phillips is interested in a move to Anfield, Leeds United is reluctant to sell the 26-year old to a Premier League club. They much rather sell Phillips to Real Madrid, who are said to be obsessed with the midfielder.
Liverpool first indicated an interest in the midfielder in October of 2021, however, this is the first time The Reds are actually making a serious approach for the Englishman.
Kalvin Phillips seems to also be the perfect replacement for Jordan Henderson. Not only does he check all the boxes to be the perfect replacement for the Liverpool captain, but also offers a little extra with the ball.
Leeds United are currently struggling in the premier league and does not look like they will play in Europe anytime soon. If Phillips wants to improve his stature in the game, he needs to move to a club that does not only play in Europe but also challenges for major trophies.
Liverpool are also linked with Dennis Zakaria.
Naby Keita is inconsistent, Thiago has injury issues, Jordan Henderson and James Milner are aging. Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliot lack experience. Hence Kalvin Phillips’ signing makes sense. He is at the peak of his career and already comes with quite a bit of experience, having played for England multiple times.
Ever since Wijlandum’s departure, Liverpool have missed a player like him. Kalvin Phillips can help bridge that gap.
However, signing Kalvin Phillips will not be an easy job for Klopp and co. The highly-rated 26-year old has a lot of suitors, including Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Manchester United. So if Liverpool wants to sign him, they will have to move swiftly and cleverly.
