It has emerged today that Liverpool are showing interest in signing highly-rated Fulham starlet Fabio Carvalho, with a £5 million price tag being touted to lure him away from Craven Cottage.

The teenager is having a fantastic season playing under Marco Silva with Fulham, scoring twice in their latest game; a 6-2 demolition job of Birmingham City.

However, the Portuguese manager is standing firm and urging Carvalho to see out the campaign with Fulham, who currently sit top of the Championship by five points.

Carvalho has scored seven times in 16 appearances for the London side this season, his stats are made more impressive by the fact he is recovering from Covid and injuries.

According to the Express, Jurgen Klopp’s team are ready to make a £5 million bid during this month’s window and they hope the allure of Premier League football with a title charging team will be too good of an opportunity for the youngster to turn down.

The 19-year-olds current contract situation is very much in Liverpool’s favour, it runs out this summer and means Fulham may want to get as much money as possible before they lose their prized asset for nothing.

This wouldn’t be the first time Liverpool snatched away a bright young talent from Fulham, with the Reds signing Harvey Elliott in 2019 and his dazzling start to life at Anfield will only support a move for attacking midfielder in the coming days.

The potential move seems to be positive for Liverpool, £5 million is cheap in today’s market for a highly-rated prospect and with Klopp’s desire to push the next generation of talents into first-team action, it could be seen as a match made in heaven.
