According to recent reports, Liverpool have been told to pay 33 million pounds for the youngster from Palmeiras, who has been dubbed as the next Neymar.

The player in question is sixteen year old, Endrick de Sousa.

The report from Sky Sports suggests that Liverpool is not the only club in the race for the youngster’s signature. Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Arsenal are also said to be interested in the youngster and will look to not repeat the same mistake as with Neymar.

The youngster has a 17 million euro release clause in his academy contract but cannot be signed by a club outside of Brazil until he is 18. Hence, this release clause is useless to Premier League clubs like Liverpool.

FSG are always looking to sign players below their prime to help nurture their growth at Anfield. Endrick de Sousa fits this bill and can turn out to be a world-beater in the future.

However, 33 million pounds for a 16-year-old player who still has to prove himself at the top seems a bit excessive. Knowing Liverpool’s tight budget, it does not look like a player they will bring next summer.

If they can get a cheaper deal, then maybe the deal can still go through, but with Real Madrid ready to splash the cash, a more affordable deal does not look likely.

It would work better to Liverpool’s advantage if they spend this money on a player like Raphinha or Moussa Diaby. Players who can play a part in the first team right from the get-go.

Real Madrid is said to be leading the race as Vinicius Junior has even approached the youngster and already gifted him a Real Madrid jersey.

Do you think the youngster will be a good signing for Liverpool?
