At long last, Luis Diaz and Liverpool FC are united

It’s been a long month of swirling rumors and little action for Liverpool FC on the transfer market, but that is no longer the case today. One of the top available players on the market, FC Porto’s Luis Diaz, is coming to the Reds pending a physical. Earlier this month, rumors of him arriving at LFC were spoken of, but it was said that Jürgen Klopp’s side would more than likely wait until this summer to make a more prominent signing. With COVID-19 running rampant and a shorter time frame to strike out a quality deal, a transfer for Luis Diaz to anywhere seemed unlikely. However, FSG and company said otherwise.

The Luis Diaz to Liverpool deal is essentially complete.

The excitement of acquiring a talented and young (25) player who can also play in the midfield is a cause for celebration among Kopites.

There is one last hurdle before the deal reaches finalization, though, a medical physical. Assuming that all is well on that end, the Colombian’s desire to be in Liverpool is the main reason why this deal got done and not another. For a fellow Premier League opponent, they should be beside themselves.

Tottenham Hotspur offered more than Liverpool, but Diaz rejected a move there.

Some people say many professional athletes are all about money; that cannot be said for Diaz. Tottenham Hotspur offered a substantial amount more to acquire the future star, but Luis’ desire to be in Anfield triumphed in negotiations.

It just goes to show that the power of being a Red is still alive and well in an era where some players’ ambition is questionable. But, please make no mistake about it; Luis Diaz is arriving to make a difference for Liverpool for years to come.
