The 24-year-old centre-back will join Bournemouth on loan until the end of the season

The Cherries introduced Nat to their fans with a hilarious video highlighting his play of the season — the famous Cruyff turn in San Siro.

Phillips signed a long-term contract with Liverpool last summer, a four-year deal that would keep him at Liverpool until 2025.

The centre-back has made 24 appearances for the club but only three of them this season. One appearance in the League Cup as a substitute against Preston North End and two Champions League appearances, featuring a full match against AC Milan and a late substitution appearance against Atletico Madrid.

It was expected to see Phillips’ minutes drop off this year after the injury-riddled season Liverpool suffered from last year. He did an excellent job filling in the depleted backline last campaign, featuring in 20 matches and helping Liverpool secure Champions League football.

Phillips has grown to become a popular player amongst the Liverpool supporters. Whether it’s his willingness to throw his head wherever it’s needed or his silky moves inside his own penalty area, surely the fanbase will want to see him return.

The current centre-back depth at the club makes this loan decision an easy one for Phillips and we hope he gets some meaningful minutes in the Championship for Bournemouth. Phillips will hope to help Bournemouth secure promotion just like he did when he was loaned out to VfB Stuttgart in the 2019-20 season.
