While many Liverpool FC supporters answered their questions about whether or not they would see Luis Diaz in action today, another fan favorite took center stage. Considering the 4th round of the FA Cup has given the Reds problems in recent years, that was far from the case today. However, a specific young talent lead the charge in his first match since a gruesome injury this past September.

Harvey Elliott’s return for Liverpool was a sight that captured the hearts of many.

At just 18 years of age, Harvey Elliott has become one of the club’s most talented and exciting young players. Today, against Cardiff City, he showed the world exactly what he is capable of moving forward.

His spectacular volley sent Kopites into a frenzy of excitement and joy, one of those was his father. It was an emotional moment for all, which genuinely headlined the match in what manager Jürgen Klopp described as a happy ‘fairytale-like’ story after the match:

"“With the goal it became obviously a proper fairy tale, to be honest. In my mind I had the situation, it’s not nice but it came up, in Leeds when we lost him with this horrible injury. All the way through he was very patient and our medical department did obviously an incredible job with him, but he was patient enough to do all the necessary steps. Coming then on is already a great step back, but scoring this nice goal makes it a proper fairy tale so I am really happy for him. He was over the moon! It was properly touching. So, all good.” via – Liverpoolfc.com"

Elliott also had a heartfelt message for LFC supporters after the match.

A remarkable all-around comeback from injury story ultimately stole the show from the Reds’ new arrival, who still managed to carve a headline himself.
