Midfielders

Jordan Henderson – 5

Henderson had a rough first half on Sunday, with the exception on one beautiful delivery into the back post that, unfortunately, Sadio Mane wasn’t prepared for. Otherwise, the skipper struggled to get any solid passes off (just 52% pass success going into halftime) and was booked for a foul on Eric Pieters, knocking his own knee in the process. It was a tough outing for the captain, who was subbed off early in the second half.

Fabinho – 7

Fabinho continued his reign of goal scoring in 2022, netting the lone goal in Sunday’s match, sneaking a second-chance shot past Nick Pope at close range, and finishing his own rebound. His passing was not as clean as is usual for him in the first half but cleaned up in the second half for a final 84% pass accuracy on 58 passes to help gain control of the midfield later in the match.

Naby Keita – 8

Keita had what could be considered a quietly brilliant match. It may not show in a highlight reel, but he was vital for the squad today in staying clean and productive while the rest of the squad was falling victim to sloppiness. Keita succeeded on five of six tackles, had two clearances, and registered a 90% pass success on Sunday. He even had a decent shot on net early on from just outside the box, forcing Pope to make a tremendous save.
