Midfielders

Fabinho – 8

Like the rest of the Liverpool offense, Fabinho struggled to create anything on the offensive end in the first but came up big defensively with two tackles and a blocked shot before the break. Overall, Fabinho had another one of his quiet but critical games, where he remained calm and consistent even when the game was sloppy and unpredictable. Fabinho finished with 83% pass accuracy, won four aerials, and had two tackles. Though there might not be an amazing stat line or incredible highlight reel from this one for Fabinho, he was instrumental in the Reds gaining control in the midfield.

Jordan Henderson – 6

Henderson struggled on the ball and looked overall frustrated on Wednesday night. He managed just 78% pass success, no key passes, no tackles, and no clearances. There were no critical errors, but it was rather just a slow, bad night for the skipper.

Thiago – 7

Thiago made a nearly-disastrous mistake, passing back to Alisson with Odengaard in close range and relying on Alisson to block Odengaard alone at close range. He made up for it, however, minutes later. Thiago managed a gorgeous though pass from about midfield to Jota charging into the box to assist on the opening goal. Thiago continues to be the consistent, pacing glue of a Liverpool midfield that can start games looking completely out of sorts, and he does so on and off the ball. He finished the match with  84% pass accuracy and one key pass.
