News has emerged this week that Liverpool’s last-minute goal merchant is set to leave Anfield this summer in a move to Serie A giants AC Milan.

Origi will be a free agent when the current Premier League season comes to an end, so it’s no surprise a big club is lining up a deal to make the Belgian part of their plans.

Jurgen Klopp, however, still has the opportunity to keep the striker and extend his contract past this season, nevertheless after limited appearances for the Reds, it seems his time is unfortunately up.

Transfermarkt rate the forward’s value at a cool £10 million, so losing him on a free doesn’t sting Liverpool too much, however, fans will be disappointed to lose the man who has become somewhat of a folk law hero at Anfield.

Origi will be fondly remembered for his brilliantly timed goals; a 96th-minute winner against Merseyside rivals Everton and first-class finishes in the semi-final and final of the 2018-19 Champions League.

Sky Sports reported that a deal with AC Milan is set to be reached as early as this week, with both parties keen to get it over the line before the current campaign finishes.

The Belgium international has a real chance at establishing himself as a starter at the San Siro with Milan’s current forward options, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Oliver Giroud nearing the end of their careers.
