Midfielders

Fabinho – 4

Fabinho had an uncharacteristically rough match, looking extremely uncertain and rattled with the ball and seemingly failing to keep up to speed defensively with his opponents. He was booked for a reckless foul on Bernardo Silva. Fabinho gave away the ball on the Red’s final attack that nearly led to a Manchester winner on the counterattack. He finished with 3 successful tackles out of 5, two fouls, was booked, and was dribbled past 2 times.

Thiago Alcantara – 7

Thiago was the strongest of the midfield three in the first half, though there was not much competition there. He seemed more creative with his passing, looking to move the Reds into the opposing third instead of camping in the midfield. He also committed the least amount of mistakes, a metric that was crucial in a sloppy first half for the Reds.

Jordan Henderson – 5

Henderson started the match out silent, not hearing his name much at all until the later stages before halftime. Before the break, he began making more aggressive forward passes but seemed to settle back into passive play in the second half. Subbed.
