Aurelien Tchouameni is the talk of Ligue 1, and reports today are suggesting that a move to Liverpool this summer is certainly on the cards.

Since moving to AS Monaco in 2020, the 22-year-old has become a rising star in the French top flight and has been linked with a big-money move away from the Stade Louis II once this campaign comes to an end.

Jurgen Klopp’s team look set to battle it out with Real Madrid for the youngster’s signature, with the German coach placing Tchouameni at the very top of his wish-list.

According to football journalist and transfer specialist, Santi Aouna Liverpool have already made contact with the midfielder over a summer switch to Anfield.

Tchouameni’s price tag is thought to be in the region of £40-50 million, a bargain when you consider some of the sums being thrown about for midfielders linked with Liverpool this summer.

The midfield area is certainly an area for improvement in Jurgen Klopp’s side and the Frenchman seems the ideal player to replace an aging Jordan Henderson.

Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara have cemented their places in Liverpool’s midfield three this season and with Naby Keita’s injury record being far from perfect, Tchouameni could be seen as the third man to become a regular in the starting XI.

The youngster’s abilities and potential ceiling have been completely on show this season and it would be surprising if Liverpool decided against making a move for the AS Monaco midfielder.
