Liverpool look set to make another bold move in the transfer market, after the Reds welcomed Luis Diaz to Anfield in January and secured the services of Fabio Carvalho from Fulham.

According to a report from the Sunday Mirror, Liverpool have struck a savvy deal once again to have first refusal to sign promising Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira.

The youngster has a release clause of €15m (£12.7m), which is said to have been met by the Merseyside club in recent days.

But who is Fabio Vieira and where would he fit in amongst Liverpool’s quadruple chasing setup? The 21-year-old is a product of Porto’s renowned academy and has featured heavily this season in the club’s title-winning campaign.

With 39 appearances under his belt, the Porto starlet has netted seven times and provided 16 assists, highlighting the vicious attacking nature of his game.

Liverpool fans and hierarchy only have to look at how easy former Porto star Luis Diaz has fit into their squad since January to get an idea of how Vieira’s move may play out.

It’s no exaggeration to claim that Liverpool could provide the 21-year-old with a string of trophies if he was to make a move to Anfield; Liverpool have already claimed the Carabao and FA cup this campaign, with the Premier League and Champions League still to play for.

On top of that, Vieira undoubtedly fits the mould of Liverpool’s current transfer model and would provide current youngsters at the club in his position like Harvey Eliott and Curtis Jones with some much-needed competition.
