Liverpool and Manchester United are looking to get their respective seasons back on track when they face each other on Monday night in what promises to be an intense game with loads of pressure on either side.

Liverpool makes the short trip to Old Trafford on Monday night to take on bitter rivals, Manchester United.

Jurgen Klopp seems to have a huge selection headache before his Liverpool side takes on arch-rivals Manchester United. With Darwin Nunez suspended following his red card against Crystal Palace and Diogo Jota far from being fully fit, the return of Roberto Firmino gives Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool major respite.

The only worry that crosses most Liverpool fans’ minds is that Firmino should not be risked for the entire duration of the game unless fully fit. Nevertheless, there is a chance that we will see the Brazillian starting on the bench rather than getting his name in the starting line-up. It would be a nightmare if he isn’t fully matched fit and ends up aggravating his injuries.

In an interview, Klopp mentioned that his omission versus Crystal Palace was purely precautionary given a muscle issue. Phew! In addition to a selection headache being reduced, his return also gives Klopp a chance to tinker with the formation and tactics.

There are two possible line-ups that we could see with and without Firmino.

4-3-3 (The formation that Klopp likes to use)

Alisson; Trent-Gomez-VVD-Robertson; Elliott-Fabhino-Keita; Salah-Carvalho-Diaz

4-2-3-1 (The formation that many fans would like to see)

Alisson; Trent-Gomez-VVD-Robertson; Fabhino-Henderson; Salah-Carvalho-Diaz; Firmino

Liverpool will be under immense pressure in this game. A win on Monday night can help kick-start the season and put it on the right path after a drab start. However, a loss or draw is something that will only dent confidence and make it that much tougher (but not impossible to catch Manchester City) in the long run.

What are your thoughts when it comes to the result in this all-important game?
