One of the most dreaded two weeks for football fans is here – International Break! However, for the way things have started out for Liverpool, a 17-day hiatus after a bunch of players returned from injury could be a blessing in disguise.
Liverpool’s players will now focus on international duty. Given that Liverpool’s game against Chelsea has been postponed, the Liverpool squad can get some much-needed extra rest and then head to represent their national teams.
The Liverpool players that have been called up for international duty as of now are:
- Trent Alexander Arnold – England
- Diogo Jota – Portugal
- Alisson Becker – Brazil
- Fabinho – Brazil
- Roberto Frimino – Brazil
We will update the list as and when the national teams announce their squads for the international break in September 2022.
Other than those Liverpool players traveling for international games, Liverpool still has a bunch of players out injured.
Andrew Robertson, Caoimhin Kelleher, Calvin Ramsay, Ibrahima Konate, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Curtis Jones, and Kaide Gordon are all currently out injured and recovering.
A few of them are set to return after the international break.
As for the rest of the squad who are fit and not traveling, they could have a few days off which will help bring them back to speed before the set of games that lead to the World Cup.
Jurgen Klopp will certainly use the two-week break to ensure that his players are both mentally and physically up to speed when they return to face Brighton at Anfield on October 1st, 2022.
