Liverpool has been highly involved in transfer market activity in recent months, but has been limited to being interested in a few players here and there rather than making actual deals, for which the club owners have also been harshly chastised.

The club appeared to have been uninterested in the choices available in the January window and is planning a larger revamp in the summer. The squad needs to be reconstructed in order to compete at the highest level once more, thus the revamp is even more crucial now.

Apart from Jude Bellingham, who the club hopes to sign in the summer, the club has been keeping an eye on a few other players, many of whom are looking to leave their present clubs and might be lured to Anfield.

Matheus Nunes of Wolves is one such player who has wowed teams around Europe and is being hotly pursued by elite clubs for his signature. The midfielder is reputedly worth £55 million and is desired by Chelsea, turning the bidding battle messy and intense.

Liverpool, though, may be able to sign a less expensive replacement with just as exciting skills, if not more, a few meters away from Nunes.

Wolves have another intriguing prospect lined up for Liverpool

According to Mirror, Liverpool is examining the alternatives and plausibility of a prospective deal for Wolves ace Ruben Neves, who also scored in the disaster at the Molineux and is wanting to leave the club.

The player is an explosive young talent with the potential to become one of the finest in his area, and Liverpool should not dismiss his availability. According to the Mirror, Wolves are aware of his wish to go and would let him go for a modest fee, which is decreasing each week.

He was once valued at over 70 million pounds, but with each passing week of failing to sign an extension, Wolves’ grip on him is diminishing, with a falling price tag that may be drastically lowered by the conclusion of the season.

The reasoning for approaching Neves adds weight since Liverpool should keep track of every penny spent on other targets in order to save for the massive sum that will be necessary to sign Bellingham, and with prospects as fruitful as Neves at a decreasing price, the cost benefit is enormous.
