Another fantastic midfield option that Liverpool might go for in the summer
The midfield right now is an absolute state. Especially after the atrocity of a game we saw at Wolverhampton last weekend, it’s pretty clear that Liverpool need some sort of reinforcement in most departments, but most of all in midfield.
The midfield right now is not good. There is a dire need for a superstar like Bellingham, but there is also a need for a player who is not afraid to do the dirty work, who’d run as much as the coach asks him to, go into challenges, dial up the press, stuff like that. Fabinho’s sudden decline has forced Liverpool to think of stuff like this. The point of the matter is, they need Bellingham, but that’s not all they need.
According to reports, Liverpool will be interested in signing Brighton’s Moises Caicedo if the deal becomes simpler and the price goes down a bit, more so according to how the club rates the player. If that happens, the club could try to sign Caicedo, says Ben Jacobs of Team Talk.
Caicedo is a very good player. He’s very good on the ball, and he is a very good presser, can defend well too. He’s been approached by teams like Arsenal and Chelsea, but Brighton rejected both their bids. They rate him very highly, and their valuation is also north of 60 million for the Ecuadorian, which is why Liverpool want the price to cool down slightly.
Caicedo even put out a formal, public request for the club to let him leave for greener pastures, but at the moment, he stays put at Brighton. It seems very likely that the player will move in the summer.
Caicedo’s deal depends a lot on the price, because if Liverpool somehow manage to get both Caicedo and Bellingham in the same window, their team’s position would be so much better to start the next season. Of course, this is very unlikely, considering how highly these players are rated by their respective clubs and how much they will cost, but a man can dream, I guess.

It remains to be seen what happens with this deal. Maybe Liverpool go for him in the summer, or maybe they don’t. But if they do, it’s obvious that the club will face stiff competition from several other top clubs for the Ecuadorian’s signature.
