The 2022/23 season has not been kind to Liverpool, as the team has suffered one of the biggest declines in form after playing in the Champions League only the previous season. It’s safe to say that the Reds are in a state of crisis, with an uncertain future not too far off.

The team is now languishing in 10th place in the Premier League standings, with the likelihood of missing out on a Champions League position growing with each passing game of bad performances that outperform the previous ones.

The issue has prompted some obvious and reasonable concerns about the club’s priorities. Yes, they look to be interested in a slew of players right now, but so they were during the January window as well, and we all know how that turned out.

The players are being scrutinized, and so should the manager. This season, Jurgen Klopp has been the subject of concerns about his tactical approaches, and it appears that the club is paying close attention to that.

Liverpool has contacted former Barcelona coach regarding his availability should Klopp decide to leave

It is quite known that despite having a contract till 2026, Klopp’s position at Liverpool is not solid in consideration of which the club is brewing some plans behind the scenes.

Todo Fichajes claims that the Liverpool board has been in touch with former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique as a backup plan in the event that Klopp decides to go, is compelled to leave, as the case may be. According to the report, the board has enquired with Enrique’s agents about his availability in the event he is required by the Reds.

The manager just left his post as manager of the Spain national team and is presently looking for other opportunities.

Enrique is an intriguing coach with innovative tactical methods that might help Liverpool shape into a highly efficient and strong attack-oriented side with a good defensive system, both of which are currently lacking under Klopp.

The Spaniard is also a big fan of asserting control over the pitch through possession, which stems from high-functioning midfielders who serve as the backbone of his system. In light of the midfield problem at Liverpool, Enrique may assemble a fantastic squad from start by presenting the board with a conditional offer for the precise group of players he desires.

However, the present scenario is still in its early stages, and nothing confirms Klopp’s definite exit as of yet. As things stand, the German remains in pole position to manage Liverpool until the end of his contract.
