Liverpool do not need attackers, but somehow they are still linked to them consistently. I don’t get it, I really don’t get it.

Liverpool have been looking at all positions as of late, but the thing that should worry them the least is the attack. They have star-studded players across all three offensive positions, and I do not see any need for them to buy another.

According to a report by SPORTBild via Anfield Watch on Twitter, Frankfurt are expecting Liverpool to make a bid for Randal Kolo Muani in the summer.

Well, then.

A Kolo Muani transfer only seems likely if Liverpool sell a star forward

It would be a pretty big understatement if I said that I don’t think Liverpool are in contention to buy any forward in the summer. They just spent 80 million on Darwin Nunez in the summer. They spent another 40 on Cody Gakpo in the winter transfer window, adding to the already efficient attack of Bobby Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz. But I just don’t see Liverpool adding another player just for the sake of it.

Kolo Muani is a great player and he changed the trajectory of the World Cup final the second he was subbed on, but realistically speaking, I don’t see him playing as much as he would want at Liverpool, at this current state of the squad.

Obviously, though, if they let a player go, then maybe Kolo Muani would be looked at as a potential option, perhaps that is the only way Liverpool would even consider a forward signing in the summer, because what they really need is a couple of midfielders, and good ones at that, and a centre-back that would help out the depth situation at the club.

They don’t need a forward. I know Salah was tentatively linked with a move to PSG, but I don’t see it happening, I don’t see Salah leaving, I don’t see any starter in the Liverpool attack leaving the club in the summer. If that does happen, though, then we can talk about it. But it just doesn’t make sense to me so far.
