Liverpool’s luck with injuries this season has been pretty bad. As soon as you see one player recovering, the other falls down due to injury and then you are looking at another name in the injury list that is going to stay for a while. Sad times, really.

I mean, you can blame some of it on Liverpool not signing necessary players but at the same time, a lot of it just comes down to bad, bad luck, does it not? Liverpool have simply not had many fit players in the last couple of months, and yes, some of it is on their squad depth but a lot of it is just bad luck.

Here’s another example, Calvin Ramsay is now set for a long spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on his knee. The timetable for his return is unknown, but it looks like the right-back will be out for at least a few months.

Trent’s position was always secure, but now he must ensure that he does not add to the injury list. He’s always been important, really important, but now that he doesn’t have a like-for-like back-up it is going to be very important for him to stay fit for the rest of the season.

If he, unfortunately, gets injured, we are looking at a centre-back playing out of position to cover for the English fullback.

I hope that doesn’t happen, obviously.

Coming back to Ramsay, that kid is so hard-working. He gives it all for the club each time he plays, although that hasn’t happened much this season, but he’s just had a bit of really sad luck with injuries that hopefully goes away after this surgery on the knee.

Hopefully, he can come back better than ever and start getting minutes on the pitch. It is already difficult for the player to do so while being the understudy to one of the best fullbacks in the game, hopefully, things on the other side change for the better for him.
