Liverpool forward has decided to leave club in summer
Liverpool has remained active in the transfer arena, pursuing a large number of players in order to restore its depleted team. Nearly every other player who is said to be moving this summer has caught the attention of the club, which is considering its possibilities to bring him to Anfield.
There will be a need to create room for new players, thus numerous existing ones will have to be offloaded. According to rumors, roughly ten players are in line to leave Liverpool.
There are currently few offers for these players, with the exception of one who has garnered attention from multiple major teams and may be closer to leaving the Reds than others in the group.
Liverpool striker has indicated a desire to leave the club
According to the English tabloid Mirror through Sport1, Roberto Firmino has decided to quit Liverpool, despite recent rumors to the contrary. The player’s contract with the Merseyside club expires this summer, and he is prepared to leave as a free agent.
This revelation comes as a shock after speculations that the Brazilian was on the verge of extending his stay. Fabrizio Romano stated a few weeks ago that the club had already offered him a new deal and that both parties were in negotiations.
Yet, in my opinion, there were too many reasons to deny the contract than to take it, principally because it was a short-term offer that plainly demonstrated the club wasn’t banking on him in the long run. Second, Firmino’s role has changed since the arrival of players like Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez, who are obviously higher up the pecking order than him.
On the other hand, the footballer did not have no other choices except Liverpool. To this day, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, and Inter Milan are all showing interest in the player and what he can bring to the table.
Therefore it’s hard to see why Firmino would choose to stay at Liverpool to an uncertain future with no sure starting berth versus teams that value him highly and see his role in their squad as more definitive.
