Who should start in attack for Liverpool if everyone is fit?

If there is one aspect of Liverpool’s roster that I am not that worried about, it is the attack. By that, I mean, I am kind of concerned about the form of some of the players at Liverpool, but I know that Liverpool have made the right signings in the attack, and they don’t need more. They don’t need more at all.

I really thought Cody Gakpo was surplus to requirements, but he’s very talented and perhaps too good an option to pass on, which is why Liverpool went for him.

To this question, I have a few answers depending on the form, and also depending on the potential of each player. You can’t group them, because form matters, but potential also matters.

Liverpool’s current offensive options are Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and Darwin Nunez. That’s six really good options. Well, at least five really good options and one decent option off the bench.

Now, obviously, Mohamed Salah is a no-brainer. No matter how often he is linked away from Liverpool, he is still their best offensive option, and he will start at all times. He’s just that decisive. He can turn the tie on his head whenever he wants, and he’s too good, period.

Now, that leaves us with four players for two positions, because I don’t really consider Firmino a starter calibre player anymore.

Nunez, Jota and Gakpo can all play centrally, and they can also play on the left. Luis Diaz is great on the wing. It’s tough, but if Gakpo is able to keep building on his form little by little then we will probably see a front three of Gakpo, Nunez and Salah.

If Gakpo isn’t able to become consistent enough for a team like Liverpool, a team of Liverpool’s calibre, then we will probably see Luis Diaz eased back into the line-up in place of him.
Jota is very good and can start whenever Nunez is struggling. Still, I just don’t see Nunez getting benched, especially now when he’s becoming so important to this Liverpool squad and how confident he is getting as of late.

Although, one thing’s absolutely certain: Everyone will definitely get minutes. There will be a lot of rotation. There’s no doubt about it. If you have such skilled players in your roster, you best make the most out of it. No other way to keep your squad happy, in form and fresh for the most important games of the season.
