Liverpool have been linked to a lot of midfielders in the past few months. Everyone in the world that follows Liverpool knows that there is a need for the club to sign a midfielder, so we see many, many players being linked to the club for a move in the summer transfer window.

Some are real, and some are not so real, but, to be fair, Liverpool’s transfer list for the midfield spot must be pretty long, because they do need quite a few of them. Klopp apparently wants three, and even if he doesn’t, there is a need for two, at the very least.

Liverpool were being linked to Mainz midfielder Anton Stach for a summer transfer. The defensive midfielder, should he have been bought, would have solved a lot of their issues, be it as a starter or off the bench. He would’ve helped Liverpool in multiple ways.

But according to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool do not have Stach’s name on their list as of now.

I mean, it’s clear that after Fabinho’s rapid decline, Liverpool do need a defensive midfielder sooner rather than later, and it would make sense for them to sign one. But, Stach is not the only midfielder that can help them out. There are a lot of other players, and depending on the budget, Reds can sign a better player with a higher floor and ceiling.

Saying that, this would’ve been good from an economical sense.

Be that as it may, Fabrizio Romano is very reliable when it comes to transfer news, so I assume that, as of now, Liverpool will not be signing Stach in the summer.

Stach is valued at around 18-20 million euros, which is honestly not a bad deal for the club. He may never become a superstar, but he could still be a good option to have off the bench and, if he is good enough, as a starter.

Saying that, Reds might look at Bajcetic and really think about whether they really need a player like Stach. They might allocate their funds elsewhere and sign a better player. Let’s see what happens.
