Liverpool’s midfield depth chart is not looking good, not for the starters and not for the bench options. They need more, a lot more, and they need more reliable players in this position as well.
Two of their main minute-getters in midfield are very injury-prone players. They have a few players that are on the decline, and it just seems like they need a bunch of new players; some fresh, young blood that would rejuvenate the entire squad.
Bellingham is already an option that is being considered. They are reportedly already leading the race for the English superstar from Birmingham. But, he’s not the only superstar midfielder that, according to reports, Liverpool are interested in.
New reports from Daniele Longo talk about how Liverpool are considering making a huge offer for Nicolo Barella that would sway Inter towards selling the player.
Inter, according to reports, need more than 50 million to balance their books, and an offer that good for Barella is something they might not be able to refuse. Because of this situation at Inter, everyone has a price, and according to this report, the price for Barella is around 62 to 66 million euros. Barella sits at the very top of Klopp’s wish list, and he really wants the player at Liverpool.
If you look at a midfield trio led by Bellingham and Barella at the same time, you are already looking at one of the most elite midfield partnerships in all of Europe. There is so much potential, so much versatility, and so much firepower in this duo alone, and if a competent defensive midfielder backs them, this trio would be dangerous. Perhaps the best in England.
Bellingham is only 19, while Barella himself isn’t that old, only just turning 26. They’d rule the midfield battle in nearly every single game for years to come, and if there is a way Liverpool are able to get both of these players, they absolutely should not think about it. It looks unlikely, but it can be done.

The money is there, and if they qualify for the Champions League, they might be able to sign both. Of course, this isn’t from any report. This is just my stance on it, but all Liverpool fans must pray that the club gets this done.
