It was only a couple of weeks ago that Liverpool Twitter went into melt down when Athletic journalist, David Ornstein, reported that the reds are unlikely to sign midfielder Jude Bellingham. The news came as music to the ears of the FSG Out brigade that were quick to jump of the article as a positive piece in their never ending agenda.

However, the shifting sands of football transfers have struck again with the news today that Liverpool FC owners FSG will sanction a big money move for Bellingham this summer with boss Jurgen Klopp seeing the Englishman as the key to his midfield rebuild. This latest twist was delivered by Paul Joyce from The Times Newspaper who is widely known as one of the more trusted writers when it comes to Liverpool FC news.

In an article that has fans hopeful of an exciting summer transfer window Joyce reported that Bellingham himself would welcome a move to Anfield. It is no secret that Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard was his favourite player growing up and the idea of having the team built around him while wearing Stevie’s Number 8 shirt seems to make sense. Jurgen Klopp has also made it widely known that he rates Jude highly, which makes money, and brokering a deal with current club Borussia Dortmund the only sticking point.

The drama of this potential deal has already dragged on for over 12 months leaving Liverpool fans divided. While many people on social media are reporting that the deal is already done, others are worried that owners FSG are simply hyping the potential signing to take away from what has been a dismal season. The negative mantra is out there already “No Champions League Football, No Jude Bellingham.” But surely that view is too simplistic. Jude is 19 years old with an entire career ahead of him and a legacy to build. He could very well take the cash and settle in at Manchester City or Real Madrid as another cog in a well oiled machine. Or, he could challenge himself by heading to a club he obviously has a deep admiration for and become the king pin in a new era of success.

I honestly think Jude Bellingham wants the Liverpool move whether we finish in the top four or not. Jurgen Klopp wants the deal and with the clubs record turnover last year, players moving on, the Virgil Van Dyke and Alisson Becker transfer fees basically paid off we now have the room in the budget to make it happen and make it happen we definitely should.
