Transfer Roundup: Lavia fee agreed, but player chooses Chelsea
Happy Monday Reds! I hope you’ve recovered from the aftermath of Liverpool’s season opening draw at Stamford Bridge. We’re back to gather transfer news for you and get you updated. Big news today, Liverpool have agreed a fee with Southampton for Romeo Lavia. Let’s get started!
ROMEO LAVIA (SOUTHAMPTON) – It has been reported that Liverpool finally agreed to a fee with the Saints over their prized asset. A £60 million pact was agreed between the clubs.
However, the player is still needed some convincing. Chelsea were said to be lurking in the background as they had Eden Hazard speak to Lavia about becoming a Blue. That in addition to the money being offered could sway Lavia. As of this writing, Lavia has decided to pick Chelsea. Another brutal transfer blow.
ANDRE TRINDADE (FLUMINESE) – The Brazilian midfielder has continued to play well for his club as they progress in the Copa Libertadores. However, with the Brazilian season already in full flight, it is looking like this would be a January move at best.
The fee in discussion is around £34 million but that is a ways off from being completed. The Reds have other focuses for now.
GONCALO INACIO (SPORTING CP) – The supremely talented left-footed Portuguese defender has been linked with the Reds before. Boasting a £40 million release clause, he could be had for a very nominal fee.
This would be an astute signing for the club and prove a proper piece of business. This is one to keep an eye on.
FEDERICO VALVERDE (REAL MADRID) – It’s being reported the Spanish giants will potentially make Valverde available to Liverpool this summer. After losing out on Moises Caicedo and now Lavia, it is crucial the club secure more midfield help.
There is no set fee on the table, but it’s assumed it’ll be a big one to secure the Uruguayan. Wait and see on this one.
IBRAHIM SANGARE (PSV) – Sangare has a £32 million release clause in his contract with the Dutch outfit. That is a very manageable fee for a player of his abilities. However, PSG have already opened talks to bring him to the French capital. Liverpool must move quickly if they want to get a shot at bringing him in.
This is nothing concrete, but could be a sublime bounce back alternative. Wait and see.
That’s all we have for now as the disappointing Lavia news trickles in. Liverpool have truly lost the plot in the last 5 days. Let’s hope their luck changes soon.
