Klopp: “Salah focused on getting something out of the squad”

Mo Salah has been in scintillating form once again for Liverpool this season and he will certainly be their most important attacking threat for the rest of the campaign. Summer rumors of a mega-money departure to Saudi Arabia proved to be wide of the mark. The squad is better for it.

Speaking at the press conference for the Luton Town match, Klopp spoke glowingly about his No. 11.

"“Yes, good shape, on the pitch, goal scoring-wise, everybody can see that; off the pitch he’s in even better shape, I would say. He’s really positive. He enjoys the company of the boys and sees that there is a lot of potential, and wants to maximize that by getting something out of it.But the other stuff, we never thought about it, and I hope I don’t have to.”"

While it’s clear that Salah has not let the possibility of a move abroad bring down his game, it’s something that will probably need to be addressed again in the near future.

Liverpool have begun shaping the squad for life after Salah with the likes of Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and others expected to take up the mantle if he ever does leave.

In a perfect world, Salah would continue on at the club and share his vast knowledge with the above names to help them unlock their own vast ceilings. The Reds are a better side when No. 11 is in it, that’s obvious.

He is a consummate professional that is rarely injured and always steps up when needed most. That is something that can’t be coached.

While the money from the Saudi Pro League is not going away anytime soon, our Egyptian starlet is still in Red and wreaking the havoc that we love.

His potential departure could be a conversation for a different day.

Right now he is still the best player in the squad and has shown no signs of relinquishing that title anytime soon. We must savor every penetrating run or sensational goal while he is here. Who knows how much longer we will be blessed by his presence?
