When this season began, it looked liked Liverpool would have an embarrassment of riches in their forward ranks following a summer transfer window blitz that saw Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike join the already formidable trio of Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and Federico Chiesa.
However, as we stand currently, only Ekitike and Chiesa will be 100% available for the Reds when they take on Wolves in their next fixture.
Salah is away to AFCON, Gakpo is in a race to be fit, and Isak will be out for months following a brutal ankle injury suffered while scoring against Tottenham.
With that backdrop, and the winter window soon upon us, it's expected that Arne Slot should be tempted to bolster his attacking options. Antoine Semenyo was seen as the strongest option, but the recent news that he wants a move to Man City means Liverpool will have to pivot.
Here are three forward options that could be attained to ease the scoring burden at Anfield.
Honorable Mentions - Jean-Philippe Mateta, Donyell Malen, Nicolás Paz
Igor Thiago - Brentford
We begin our list with a player already in the Premier League who is also playing fairly well considering his environment and situation.
The Brazilian has already bagged 11 goals from his 17 league appearances this season as he has been the focal point of the Bees attack. That is the exact kind of efficiency in front of goal Slot will surely be looking for.

Ekitike leads the Reds with 8 Premier League goals of his own, followed by Salah and Gakpo on four apiece. Ryan Gravenberch, a mostly deployed holding midfielder is next on three.
Adding Thiago as an option going forward could be a huge boon as Liverpool still have three competitions they are competing on and will need all hands on deck.
The Brazilian is a pure forward that works well through the middle and he would have plenty of chances with Florian Wirtz and Dominik Szoboszlai proving significant creative upgrades around him were he to make the move to Merseyside.
Valued at around £30 million, it's a deal that could materialize quickly if both clubs want it to.
Franculino Dju - Midtylland
This comes from a report from journalist Christian Falk who says that Liverpool have a very keen interest in the 21-year old striker who has been in a rich vein of form this season in the Danish league.
He has netted 21 goals from 30 appearances, with four of them coming in Europa League action, which is a good sign to see as they face competition outside of Denmark.
This would obviously be a huge step up in levels for Dju, but he could be slotted behind Ekitike in the pecking order, allowing him time to adapt and adjust as needed without the pressure of starting two times a week.

Having spent nearly £500 million over the summer, Liverpool will surely be looking for value if they do go shopping January, and Dju fits the bill as he is currently valued at only €22 million.
He is explosive on the ball and brings a dynamism that a player like Thiago might not be able to. His positional versatility across the attacking third is another asset that Slot would love to utilize.
This could also be seen as not only short-term help, but a long-term investment in a player before he truly hits his peak years. Strikers that are scoring goals play with an extra swagger about them, and that's something Liverpool could use a bit more of. This would be a fine option.
Karim Adeyemi - Borussia Dortmund
This is a player that has been linked with a move to England on more than one occasion. But now, with only 18 months left on his deal, the 23-year old would potentially only cost Liverpool around £20 million.
That would be proper business for the club to sign a player that has been playing at the highest level of European football since he was 18, and still has lots of room to grow.

His pace and energy on the wing or through the middle would inject another element to the Reds' attack that has been missing since the departure of Darwin Nunez over the summer. Sometimes you just need a player to give a bursting run forward to stretch the defense or take a defender away.
Reports are surfacing that Richard Hughes and his team are already in preliminary discussions with his agents over a move, so this could gain steam quickly as well.
However, as Dortmund are challenging for a German league title and more, getting Adeyemi at that price might prove a challenge. Even so, his pace, energy and width would be an ideal bounce back option to chasing Semenyo for so long.
