A nervy 2-1 win over the Hammers saw the Reds take a giant step closer to their inevitable 20th league title. After being pegged back by an unfortunate Robertson own goal, captain Virgil van Dijk scored an impressive header to secure the win.
Looking at the game there is always winners and losers in different contexts, so here are Liverpool’s winners and losers:
Winners
1. Mohamed Salah
Coming off the back of a big week were he signed his heavily anticipated new contract, Mo looked back to his best on Sunday, a fantastic assist for Luis Diaz’s opener and a bigger impact on the game as a whole.

Some people may have thought that a similar situation to Aubameyang at Arsenal may occur, but this is the Egyptian King we’re talking about.
He has the relentless mentality that only the elite have, he will continue to break records and pursue greatness.
Not only did he show that he still has the ability at this level, he showed us fans, how he is adapting his game, we’ve seen it all season but he has such a well-rounded approach and skillset that is amazing to watch.
2. Virgil van Dijk
Another man whose season has been clouded by the talks of his contract. Over the past week it has been all but confirmed that van Dijk will also sign a new contract with the club, extending his term as club captain.

It may have been a very different look for Virgil if he had not scored the winner, as it was partly his fault West Ham scored their goal.
It seemed to be a lack of communication, which led to the Robbo own goal, but he soon set the record straight with a thumping header on the stroke of the 90th minute.
A great header and for some eagle-eyed fans an even better celebration. Kissing the badge, while looking at the Kop is a sign of a man committed to the cause. He alongside Mo certified themselves as Liverpool legends.
3. Liverpool Football Club
Arne Slot’s men have taken another big step in their journey to seal the Premier League title.

Making sure this tumultuous form ends was a big result for LFC, but for it to happen the same weekend Arsenal drop even more points brings more joy to everyone affiliated with Liverpool.
Securing the immediate future of their talisman in Salah is also a huge boost as well to the overall club psyche.
