The most successful manager in Liverpool history. The Scotsman won 20 trophies in just 9 years, a time when Liverpool ruled the world. The man who had the highest win rate over Man City.

The Manchester side were again struggling to find a consistent placement when in the First Division.

During Paisley’s reign, City reached the lofty heights of 2nd place but also suffered a relegation in Paisley’s final year in charge.

Mixed in with all of this was plenty of mid-table mediocrity. So it’s safe to say Liverpool had their way in this fixture during this time.

Paisley’s biggest win against the Citizens was a 5-0 romp away at Maine Road, in April 1982.
