Alexander Isak signing for Liverpool Football Club this summer seems closer than it ever has to this point. Momentum has shifted in favor of the Reds but things are not all roses just yet.
There is still work left to be done to get a deal across the line as Newcastle United are holding firm to their valuation of the Swede while they are also locked in a transfer battle for his possible replacement.
Let's get you caught up on the latest in the Newcastle-Isak-Liverpool transfer saga.
Personal Terms Agreed
Per various reports, including confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, Isak and Liverpool have agreed to personal terms should a transfer take place.
It would be a six-year deal worth around £250,000 per week, which is right in line with what newest Liverpool signee Hugo Ekitike agreed to before his move to England.

While there was a huge weekly offer from Saudi champions Al-Hilal, Newcastle's star only has eyes for Anfield, which is why negotiations probably went so smooth.
However, the Magpies are still holding out as they have neither secured a replacement or made themselves available for a viable offer to arrive. Isak is doing his best to facilitate a move as he has been training alone and removed himself from the club.
Per Romano, there is about a 60% chance Liverpool signs Alexander Isak this summer. However, those numbers are definitely trending in a red direction.
Newcastle not Cooperating..yet
As we all know, NUFC are looking for £150m to even come to the table and discuss selling their main man this summer.
This week they have been heavily linked with a move for RB Leipzig standout Benjamin Sesko, who is a bright young talent at forward. However, the late entrance of Manchester United into the race for his services has thrown a wrench in these plans and things are not as certain anymore.
Liverpool will be hoping Sesko chooses Newcastle so they can swoop in and get a deal across the line for Isak sooner than later.

The more time that passes with no new forward arriving at St. James Park, means it's less and less likely that Richard Hughes can get his 'dream target' in the door this summer.
With personal terms already agreed and never a problem, Liverpool just need the go-ahead from Newcastle to submit a record bid. Per Romano, they have already made contact with NUFC.
The funds are ready and the player wants the move. Let's see if his current club will lessen their stance in the coming days.
