Liverpool's maiden visit to Hill Dickinson Stadium proved to be one to remember, if you are a Red of course.

On Sunday, goals from Mohamed Salah and then Virgil van Dijk, the latter a towering header in the tenth minute of injury time, saw Arne Slot's side win the first-ever Merseyside derby played at Bramley-Moore Dock.

This means, according to the Athletic, Liverpool have now won a Premier League fixture at 60 different stadiums, a new competition record.

Concurrently, there are just two stadiums at which the Reds have played a match in the competition's history and never won. Before you scroll down, can you guess which two they are? Here's a clue, they've only visited both once...

Premier League stadiums at which Liverpool have never won a match

  • Bloomfield Road: 12 January 2011. Blackpool 2-1 Liverpool.
  • Kenilworth Road. 5 November 2023. Luton Town 1-1 Liverpool.

Yes, Bloomfield Road and Kenilworth Road are the only two stadiums Liverpool have played a Premier League fixture without claiming a victory.

Given that Blackpool are 16th in EFL League One, with Luton Town eighth in the same third-tier division, it appears unlikely they'll get to change this fact any time soon.

Before Everton's new ground, the most-recent stadiums the Reds added to their list was the Gtech Community Stadium, beating Brentford away for the first time at the third attempt in February 2024.

Well, there will be at least one brand-new Premier League stadium for Kopites to visit next season. Coventry City have already been promoted back to the Premier League for the first time since 2001.

When we last saw the Sky Blues in the top division, their home was still Highfield Road, with Liverpool winning their final two visits there.

Now though, Frank Lampard's team are based at the catchily named Coventry Building Society Arena, a venue Liverpool have never previously visited.

Meantime, Millwall are currently third in the EFL Championship, so a first-ever league visit to the New Den could be on the cards. Also, with three fixtures remaining, Wrexham are just one place and two points outside the play-off spots; the Reds have not made the short 40 mile journey to the Racecourse in any competition since 1978, never doing so for a league match outside of war time.

Before any of that, Slot's side need to make sure of Champions League qualification. The late derby winner by van Dijk was a big step towards achieving this, now seven points ahead of woefully out of form Chelsea.

Nevertheless, with Liverpool, Chelsea themselves, Aston Villa and Brentford still to face, after Saturday's clash with Crystal Palace, they are not over the line yet.
