Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool at the end of the season, but there is an obvious replacement: Michael Olise.

Replacing Salah will not be an easy task, as he has been a talisman for the club since he joined back in 2017. He is now Liverpool's all-time top goalscorer in the Premier League, and has helped them win two titles. However, recently, he has become more of a headache to the club.

His contract situation rumbled on last season, and he has not been the same player since. This campaign, he has scored just six goals and recorded six assists in 23 league games as the Reds have made an abysmal defence of their title.

Salah also spoke out against the club just before he went to the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt. This may have been to engineer an exit in January, but a departure from the club this summer is now secured despite him being contracted until 2027.

Could Michael Olise replace Mohamed Salah at Liverpool?

Olise is a talented right-winger who can step into Salah's boots. He already has Premier League experience from his time at Crystal Palace. In 82 Premier League games for Palace, Olise scored 14 goals with 22 assists.

Since joining Bayern Munich, he has reached a different level. In 61 Bundesliga matches, he has found the back of the net 24 times and provided 38 assists. It helps that he is at a team expected to win the league each season, rather than at Palace, who are regarded as a mid-table Premier League side.

The winger would not come cheaply as he is only 24 and contracted to Bayern until 2029. Liverpool also needs to make sure they abide by the Premier League's profitability and sustainability regulations after spending big on the likes of Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz last summer.

Olise is one of the most in-demand players in world soccer. Liverpool would face competition for his services from the likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, and Arsenal.

The winger has already done it in Germany, winning the Bundesliga last season, and they are set to win it again next season. His next dream will be to win the Champions League, which Bayern could do this season as they currently lead Real Madrid in their quarter-final tie.

He may have ambitions of playing for another top side on the continent, or returning to the Premier League with one of the division's biggest clubs.
