Liverpool player ratings for the 2-0 Premier League win over Aston Villa
The beat goes on for Liverpool as they made things look relatively simple in their 2-0 victory over Aston Villa to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to five points over Manchester City who lost to Brighton earlier on Saturday.
A few half-chances from the visitors aside, there was not a whole lot of stress for Liverpool in this one as they flexed their muscle in the biggest moments.
Goals from Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah were more than enough to secure maximum points on the day. Let's see how the Liverpool players rated in the win.
Caoimhin Kelleher - 7/10 - He made two fine saves from point blank range from a pair of Villa corners that showed his worth once again. Comfortable taking control in the air and a clean sheet.
Trent Alexander-Arnold - N/A - Came off injured in the 24th minute so hoping it's nothing serious.
Ibrahima Konate - 8/10 - Yet another strong display from Ibou as he always seemed one step ahead of the Villa forwards when they did attempt to push ahead. He's so strong and smooth he wins almost every 50-50 battle.
Virgil van Dijk - 7/10 - A more than solid day at the office for the big Dutchman but he was allowed an easier day because of the work of Konate. Virgil cleared up when needed, but it was a smooth professional day.
Andy Robertson - 7/10 - A much needed good day for the Scot who looked to be snapping into every challenge. Sharp defensively and made his presence felt bombing forward often as he could.
Ryan Gravenberch - 8.5/10 - Cutting out passes. Blocking shots. Carrying the ball forward. Gravenberch was everywhere tonight and he looks to be an entrenched star in midfield now for Arne Slot.
Alexis Mac Allister - 6.5/10 - It wasn't a bad day for Macca necessarily, however he was not asked or needed to do a whole lot in this match. Moved the ball along nicely as ever.
Curtis Jones - 7/10 - A good solid outing for Jones who pressed very well in this one and got back as needed when Aston Villa thought they had a chance. Good passing vision again too.
Mohamed Salah - 8/10 - His pace on the break led to the opening goal and he would eventually get himself a goal to seal the three points. A true attacking menace in every aspect as he keeps plugging along at the highest level.
Darwin Nunez - 7.5/10 - Showed great effort and composure to find the ball, round the keeper and finish his goal. Missed another golden chance soon after but his work-rate was second to none and it was an effective display.
Luis Diaz - 6.5/10 - A few half-moments of danger from Lucho but overall he worked hard to not much final result personally. Nice link up with Robertson though.

Cody Gakpo - 6/10 - Did not make a huge impact after coming on for Darwin but floated into some threatening areas.
Dominik Szoboszlai - 6.5/10 - Showed some flashes of the player we know he can be and tracked back well to help defensively. Keep building the confidence.
Wataru Endo - N/A - Late minutes for the Japan international.
